Marshmallow root is a premier moistening herb and has an affinity for mucousal membranes in our body. It moistens dry tissue and softens hard tissue. Mucosal membranes line the respiratory tract, bronchial system, lungs, genitourinary tract, digestive system and reproductive system. When the mucosa becomes dry the body becomes significantly more susceptible to pathogenic invasion. Marshmallow root moistens all these mucousal membranes. It rebuilds, replenishes, and nourishes tissue that have become weak, dehydrated, atrophied, malnourished.
It is a safe herb to use and shown to be very helpful for:
